1-Produce effective product designs by using understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles.
2-Release documentation to support efficient manufacturing of products, including BOMs, engineering prints, manufacturing prints, and work instructions.
3-Work with Operations as necessary to address manufacturing issues and revise internal or customer-provided documentation.
4-Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design best practices and performance.
5-Oversee and assist with first article production and test to capture updates and ensure products meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
6-Alter or modify existing designs as necessary to obtain specified performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

7-Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design, application, and manufacture.

8-Select or design tools to meet specifications, using manuals, drafting tools, computer, and specialized software programs.

9-Conduct experiments to test and analyze existing designs and equipment to obtain data and prepare reports on performance of product.

10-Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.

11-Contribute to the development and improvement of processes that define the engineering team functions.

12-Mentor and guide the work of junior designers, drafters or technicians as necessary.

13-Complete assigned tasks within allotted timeframe and communicate proactively when issues are encountered or deadlines cannot be met.

This position requires indepth knowledge and requires tasks involving practical use of discretion and independent judgment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required qualifications:

1-Proven experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.

2-Ability to read and create mechanical drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing work instructions.

3-Exhibit excellent analytical skills, reasoning ability, and rigor in problem-solving methodology.

4-Self-directed with the ability to balance priorities and delegate responsibility as needed.

5-Able to work well within a team environment.

6-The ability to communicate well both orally and in writing, in interpersonal and group settings.

7-Familiarity with Windows operating environment and standard Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
